Mary Carol Sheffield

Mary Carol works with University of Georgia Cooperative Extension in Paulding County. She is a County Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources, providing education and outreach in a suburban Metro Atlanta area. Mary Carol’s role is to bring research based education in the areas of agriculture and natural resources to the citizens of Paulding County. Her expertise is in the area of urban forestry, but as an Extension Agent, she  a “Jill of All Trades” for agriculture and natural resources in Paulding County.  She works with other agencies and businesses to provide gardening education for youth, Master Gardener Extension Volunteers, and homeowners as well as professional education for urban agriculture.  Mary Carol provides and edits content for the Trees for Energy Conservation Community of Practice. 

Mary Carol is  an active member of the International Society of Arboriculture and an ISA Certified Arborist, as well as a member of the National Association of County Agriculture Agents and the Association of Natural Resource Extension Professionals.  She holds a BA in Biology from Agnes Scott College and an MS degree in Forest Biology from Auburn University.  She lives in Northwest Georgia with her husband and two children.
